Former radio 538 DJ Wietze de Jager demanded 120,000 euros from a couple who wanted to buy his villa last year. Unfortunately, they were unable to obtain the mortgage and, according to Wietze, they did not make enough efforts to do so.

The agreed sales price was 1.2 million euros, but the couple did include a financing reservation. She failed to get a mortgage, but Wietze did not accept this.

According to him, the couple had not made enough effort to get a mortgage. As a result, Wietze had, according to his own words, suffered considerable damage. In the meantime, house prices had fallen considerably, forcing him to sell the villa for a price below the appraised value.

He also said that this meant that he and his wife had to ‘eat up’ their savings, money that was actually intended for emigration to Bonaire. Hence the requirement of 10% of the purchase price.

The judge considered this issue and ruled against the former radio 538 DJ. According to the judge, the couple had indeed made a lot of effort to obtain the mortgage.

Instead of receiving money, Wietze now has to pay 6,000 euros to the couple due to legal and legal costs they have incurred!
