The boy was taken to hospital along with the other victims, where he succumbed to his injuries. This was reported by the British broadcaster BBC. The four remaining injured are two police officers and two civilians. The police previously reported that the boy was 13 years old, but later adjusted this to 14.

“It was very frightening and not something you would expect to happen in front of your house,” an eyewitness told Sky News.

Drove into house

The suspect allegedly drove a car into a house in the suburb of Hainault, where he then attacked two police officers and civilians. The first reports of the attack were made around 7 a.m. this morning. View the images here:

The police rule out terrorism as a motive. No other suspects are being sought.

The suspect was eventually tasered by police approximately 22 minutes after the initial report. An investigation is underway into what exactly happened and why. It is not known whether the suspect has previously come into contact with the police.

Sympathy

Mayor Sadiq Khan says he is ‘devastated’ by the events and announces extra patrols to reassure people, writes the BBC. Home Secretary James Cleverly has expressed his condolences to those involved. Both politicians call on people not to speculate about what happened.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak speaks of a ‘shocking incident’. “This kind of violence has no place on our streets.”
