HMD, known for its Nokia smartphones, has announced the first series of smartphones under its own name: the HMD Pulse Pro, HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse. The company focuses on affordability and repairability of the devices.

At a price of 140 euros, the HMD Pulse is the entry-level model of the three budget devices. This smartphone has a 6.56″ screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device has a Unisoc T606 processor with 4GB memory and 64GB or 128GB storage. The phone also has a 13-megapixel camera with AI HDR and skin tone optimization. ‘ on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The Pulse will have a 5000mAh battery, which should last 59 hours.

The Pulse+ will be available from 160 euros. The biggest difference with the Pulse is the better camera; at the rear is a 50-megapixel camera with a depth sensor for better portrait photos. The hardware of this model is otherwise the same, although the Pulse+ has 128GB of storage as standard.

The Pulse Pro costs 180 euros, making it the most expensive and luxurious model. This device has a 50-megapixel camera not only at the rear, but also at the front. The selfie camera also has Selfie Gesture Navigation, which allows you to take hands-free photos. This camera is also equipped with a night mode called AI Super Portrait mode. Furthermore, the 5000mAh battery charges at a maximum speed of 20W faster than the other two models, which have to do it at a speed of 10W.

All three models are equipped with ‘Gen 1 repairability’. This means that consumers can replace the display, the hidden charging port and the battery themselves. According to the manufacturer, repairs are easy to carry out, using a repair kit that is made available in collaboration with iFixit.
