Eight well-known Flemish people will soon go to war with a camera for ‘The perfect picture’. Photographers include actress Barbara Sarafian, reality figure Astrid Coppens and TikTok’er Jonatan Medart.

Art expert Bie Baert, actor Filip Peeters, presenter Ingeborg, choreagrapher Joffrey Anane and chocolatier Julius Persoone are also participating. In The perfect picture they have to successfully complete challenging photography assignments every week and demonstrate their creativity and technical skills.

They then present their results to the professional jury with art expert Sofie Van De Velde and top photographer Zeger Garré. “There must be a story in the photo, with emotion, passion and, above all, a lot of individuality. I want to get to know the photographer through his or her photo,” says Van De Velde. “A photo should immediately grab you and move you, but above all it should start to inspire,” Garré adds.

Most candidates have no experience, although there are two exceptions. “Forty years ago I once took photography lessons, although it was with very antique equipment that can no longer be found,” says Ingeborg. Persoone occasionally takes photos of his pralines, “but photos of people or animals are a different story.”

Filip Peeters is very motivated: “Of course I participate to win, but I secretly hope that I survive until the episode with nude photography,” he says with a wink. Medart is used to taking photos with his mobile phone. “Why make it difficult when it can be done easily with one click on your mobile phone,” he asks. “But I’m curious whether this program can convince me to use a camera more often.”

The presentation is in the hands of Manu Van Acker. Play4 has not yet announced an exact broadcast date. (eadp)
