Celebrates 5th anniversary with extra book market

The Madocke foundation has existed for 5 years this year and is celebrating this together with its volunteers, its visitors and the region. Madocke is a charity foundation that is active in the country of Hulst by organizing second-hand book markets and a quiz evening in Sint Jansteen.

The book markets are doing very well, so much so that the storage space has become too small. Partly for this reason, the board has decided to hold the book markets not only on Saturday mornings this year, but also on Friday evenings. Last time it was a great success!

The next time will be on Friday, May 3 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both times at Tabakstraat 22 in Hulst.

On Friday afternoon, the large second-hand book market is set up in 4 rooms with more than 8,000 books with the help of our volunteers. The first book costs €2 and after that all books cost €1. So dirt cheap. Because we are celebrating our 5th anniversary this year, there is one wheel of luck ! Have a chance to win free books or a small amount of money. Despite increased inflation and increasingly higher prices everywhere, we are even becoming cheaper this way. We find a second destination for the books very valuable, and of course in combination with our charities

At this moment, a festive day is also being prepared together with the volunteers as a thank you for their efforts in recent years. And this year there will also be a special cultural evening or afternoon.

This year, the proceeds will go to, among others, the regional Westerlicht foundation (for people with cancer, their loved ones and relatives), Graauwrock for Specials, De Steiger primary school and the Youth Department of Karate Club Hulst.
