book presentation by Heleenvan den Berg

--

On Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m., author Heleen van den Berg will come to the Drunen library for Beleef de Bieb. She comes to talk about her book ‘Flight Friends’: a book that is about all the experiences that someone has experienced on the run.

For years there was a folder with short stories from Heleen’s time as a language coach in the cupboard, so that she could occasionally leaf through it and relive the experiences that were still ‘heart-touching’ for her. Experiences that have everything to do with what ‘someone on the run’ experiences and experiences.

Friends who fled
Heleen’s book ‘Fugitive Friends’ is mainly for all people who do not know who these refugees are. For those who know nothing about their lives before the flight or about the years they had to survive during the war. It is also written for those who know nothing about the choice of having to flee with death on their minds or about life in a ‘camp’, an AZC (Asylum Seeker Center), or about having to integrate after being granted asylum. . This book is about them in all those intense situations and about much more what they experience once they have arrived in the Netherlands.

About Heleen van den Berg
Heleen gives lectures throughout the country, to talk about her period as a volunteer language coach and about her book. The book will not be distributed through stores, but through herself.
