Atos has been doing poorly financially for years.

Well. Perhaps it is also partly due to the work they deliver and its quality?

I work for another service provider and have seen the work Atos delivers. Let’s say it diplomatically that it is not always what you would expect from a solution with their price tag.

Missing functionality that has been sold. Of course it can still be built, but you will have to pay again. Functionality that is included in the software, but does not do what was promised. Or it’s full of bugs. Support for products is being phased out very quickly, unless you pay a lot, in which case it can be extended.

This is not new, this was also the case at this company 20 years ago.

They always have wonderful stories of people in chic suits who know how to sell all kinds of things, but unfortunately the practical implementation often turns out to be slightly less good than imagined. Often also delivered (significantly) late, and/or significantly over budget.

I have already heard from several companies/customers that they have filed significant damage claims with Atos as a result, which will not really benefit the financial situation.

Atos tells NRC that the company ‘does not see any risks’ regarding continuing its services. The IT company’s Dutch activities are also said to be healthy and the group has sufficient capital. Atos also works with various government services in Belgium.

Is this only about the French branch that is in trouble, or are there also branches in other countries that are in trouble?

And if the French branch (which is the parent company after all) collapses, will that not have consequences for the branches in other countries, legally and financially?

The article is in Dutch
