From May 6, more Arriva trains will run between Groningen and Eemshaven station, where there is a connection with the ferry to Borkum. This is the second time this year that Arriva is deploying extra trains to the port.

The extra local trains leave from Groningen station to Eemshaven at 10:52, 11:22 and 13:52 on weekdays. On Saturdays, additional trains run at 7:52 AM, 10:52 AM, 11:52 AM, 2:22 PM and 4:52 PM. On Sundays there are additional local trains at 6:22 am and 2:22 pm. About an hour later the trains leave Eemshaven for Groningen again.

Growth in number of trains per day

Eemshaven station is the northernmost train station in our country and was opened in 2018. Since then, the train from Roodeschool has continued to Eemshaven several times a day. This number of trains has now grown. From the opening, there were three to five trains per day, with only one in the winter period.

With the extra trains, fifteen trains now run to Eemshaven on weekdays. On Saturday there are ten and on Sunday six. This timetable will remain valid at least until the end of the year.
