59-year-old French millionaire Catherine Delacote has left her housekeeper her entire inheritance. The Frenchwoman recently died and her 49-year-old Thai housekeeper Nutwalai Phupongta inherits a total of 100 million baht, which is more than 2.5 million euros.

Ms Phupongta had worked for Delacote for years. Delacote’s body was found on Monday by one of her employees. A glass of whiskey, a gun, a bullet casing, sunglasses and a pack of cigarettes were found next to her, according to the Bangkok Post.

Twelve years ago, the Frenchwoman came to the southern Thai island of Koh Samui with her then wife. The two separated, but Delacote remained on Koh Samui and rented out five villas there.

Pay for funeral

The Frenchwoman leaves all her villas, two pieces of land, a car and cash, together worth about 2.5 million euros, to Nutwalai Phupongta.

The cleaner thinks the woman has committed suicide. She previously transferred 500,000 baht (more than 12,600 euros) to her to ‘pay for her funeral’. Delacote allegedly told Phupongta that she was suffering from cancer. Yet the Thai woman did not know that her boss was planning to commit suicide.
