Inflation was 2.7 percent in April, slightly lower than in March. This is mainly due to lower prices for a stay in a bungalow park.

In March, consumer prices were still 3.1 percent higher than a year earlier. In April, the price increase compared to a year earlier was slightly smaller, according to the final inflation figures from statistics agency CBS.

An important reason is that a stay in a bungalow park last month was on average 5.2 percent cheaper than in April 2023. In March, such a stay was 16 percent more expensive than a year earlier.

And that has everything to do with how the holidays and holidays fall. Easter fell early this year and the May holidays came late. As a result, the month of April had fewer vacation days than in 2023. On such days it is usually a bit more expensive to rent a bungalow.
