More than 120,000 cleaners and window cleaners will receive a new collective labor agreement. They can count on 7 to 9 percent more wages.

The new collective labor agreement will come into effect on July 1 and will be valid for two years. The unions and employers have agreed, among other things, on wage increases. CNV negotiator Jan Kampherbeek states that cleaners and window cleaners will earn 7 to 9 percent more. “The lowest wage groups will improve the most. This means that wages will remain well above the minimum wage, which is what we want.”

A travel allowance has also been agreed for cleaners and window cleaners who live more than 10 kilometers from their work. According to FNV director Renate Bos, this will save employees tens of euros per month.

Under the current collective labor agreement, employees only receive compensation if they live 30 kilometers from their work. People with twenty years of experience in the sector receive a one-off bonus of up to 1,000 euros gross. Hotel cleaners will again receive a Sunday surcharge.

The employees of the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) will also receive a pay increase of 7 percent. Their wages will increase by 4 percent retroactively to May 1, 2024.

A further increase of 3 percent will follow in May 2025. This has more than compensated for inflation. Approximately four thousand people work at the SVB.
