Caiway warns customers that it is phasing out three DNS servers. That will happen in the coming weeks. Customers who therefore have no internet must manually reconfigure their DHCP or use a different DNS server.

Customers of the provider, including some tweakers, have received a message in which the provider warns that it will be phasing out some DNS servers in the coming period. “Between May 8 and June 3, we will gradually disable DNS servers with IP addresses 83.128.0.2, 83.128.0.3 and 83.128.0.4,” Caiway wrote. The company has also put a support page online with more information.

Caiway says it is phasing out the servers and that in some cases customers will no longer be able to have internet access on certain devices. This happens if customers have set up a fixed DNS address via one of the phased-out addresses. Caiway recommends that customers enable DHCP to automatically configure the correct DNS information.

According to Caiway, it changes DNS servers “to strengthen network security and improve performance.” The company also wants to ‘minimize future disruptions’.
