Rens from Buying without Looking gives a health update: ‘Don’t know how the future will turn out’ | RTL Boulevard

The program shows that Rens goes to Mexico for treatment. This requires a lot of money, which is borrowed from friends and family. By starting a crowdfunding campaign, they were able to repay the loan amount.

“That treatment was successful,” Rens says in front of our camera. “So if all goes well, the MS has stopped now.” These are hopeful messages, but the couple is keeping their fingers crossed. “We still don’t know how the future will turn out. No one knows, but now you have a bit of the sword of Damocles hanging over your head,” says Cristine.

Rens had a stem cell transplant in Mexico. “The healthy stem cells are taken from you and they have no MS memory. They are stored and then you get chemo. So you are completely rinsed clean. Then you get those stem cells, without MS memory, back. Then you start a new build up the immune system. That is the idea,” says Rens about his treatment.
