When Jodie Turner (37) and Joshua Jackson (45) announced their divorce at the end of last year, they did not say a word about the reason. The only cause mentioned in their divorce papers is ‘irreconcilable differences’. In an interview with ‘Sunday Times Style Magazine’, Jodie now opens up for the first time about the breakup of the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actor.

Jodie admits she would have liked it to be different. “Sometimes something just doesn’t work, no matter how much you want it to. And that’s completely fine. The most important thing is that you make a choice that is healthiest for yourself and your family, especially your children. There are different moments in our lives that we have to look at ourselves and say: ‘who am I and can I really be myself?'”
The actress also asked herself this question last year. “And if the answer is no, then you have to walk away. Because I believe that you can be left with scars if you stay in places or in situations that are not good for you. And those scars not only affect you, but also on the people around you. I don’t see it as failure. We have clearly shared a wonderful time together and now it is time for a new life, for both of us.”
Although she says it is difficult to make this step, she is proud of it. “One of the toughest things you can do is recognize that something is not working and then step away. I also want to give this example to my daughter. It is a decision made out of love and happiness. A step has been taken towards a better life for everyone.”
