Ex-girlfriend Rico Verhoeven
In 2020, Rico Verhoeven and Jacky Duchenne ended their relationship after thirteen years. Mentally it was a tough period for the kickboxer, which also affected his work. Last year he classified Open Card, an online series by presenter Robbert Rodenburg, what that period was like for him. “It felt like failure,” he said of this time. Jacky and Rico were together for thirteen years and, partly because she is also the mother of his three children, he would of course have preferred not to have a relationship break up. ‘Especially after how I grew up. Two parents who have been divorced, almost since I was born. So it’s not something you were hoping for.”
New relationship
Two years after the break, in 2022, Rico started a relationship with his current girlfriend Naomy van Been. At RTL Boulevard the kickboxer said at the time that he was pleased to have found someone who understood him. ‘We both have our own thing. Naomi has her job, I have my job. But we just try to combine that as much as possible. And just spending time together. I think that’s the most important thing, of course. The life I lead is so busy and so variable.’ Rico obviously travels a lot and has to go from one place to another. ‘It’s so crazy and you have to have someone who understands you in that. So that’s great.’
Children
Rico has three children with his ex-girlfriend Jacky. Daughters Mikayla and Jazlynn and son Vince. Nice snapshots of Rico’s offspring regularly appear online.
