Presenter Gallyon is best known for Heart of the Netherlands. Early in her career, she also presented children’s programs such as The journey full of surprisespart of the series Bassie and Adriaan. Van Vessem was not seen on TV from 1997 to 2004. She had started a clinic for cosmetic surgery. Upon her return to television, she became the face of the SBS6 program Action news. Later she also came back Heart of the Netherlands, which she presented until October 2019. She had to leave the broadcaster because of her age. Gallyon was also featured in Show news and 112 Today.

In 2010 Gallyon married her great love Greg de Jong. That same year, the couple had a daughter named Julie. With magazine Margriet the presenter shared in 2016 that she found the birth ‘horrible’. “The birth of my daughter was not a moment of happiness,” she said. “But of course the moment she was there.”

No desire to have children for a long time

Van Vessem says that she didn’t actually want children for a long time, ‘but now I think it’s great’. ‘You get back everything you put into it. The other day Julie was sitting in the car with her coat closed high. I said, “Open your coat, I’m getting hot just looking at you.” The next time we went by car, she said, “I better open my coat, otherwise you’ll get so hot.” Then I’ll melt.’

Gallyon and Julie regularly go on mother-daughter outings. The proud mother then shares the images on Instagram.
