The organization of Easter Party Meddo is not amused with Mr. Polska. The artist is said to have called for beer to be thrown at the stage during the party on Saturday evening, causing the equipment to be broken. The festival reports this on social media.
That Mr. Polska suggested this is striking, because most artists are not looking forward to a beer shower at all. For example, Lil Kleine once hired security guards in an attempt to prevent the throwing, because he had had enough of the beer showers that always accompanied his performances.
Saturday evening Mr. Polska in Meddo, a village in the municipality of Winterswijk in the Achterhoek. The two-day tent festival is one of many events in the country organized for the Easter weekend.
“CALL, IMAGES WANTED!” can be read in the message that the party shares on Instagram and Facebook. “Last evening during Mr. Polska called to throw beer. We are looking for images of the moment he evokes this and (around) the moment itself.”
According to the organization, the consequences of the artist’s call were major, because the equipment turned out to be unable to withstand the volume of beer. “This call damaged the equipment to such an extent that Tony Junior could no longer start his set.”
The organization of the party in Meddo says that it wants to use the images “for internal processing”. The comments on Instagram show that followers find the call “pathetic” and “childish”. “There is insurance, right?” There is support for the organization on Facebook. “What a crazy guy,” says someone. Another: “Recover costs from Mr Polska, he made the call, could be heard loud and clear behind the bar.”
Mr. Polska itself has not yet responded to the incident.
