Paul McCartney (81) has responded to a declaration of love from an American fan after sixty years. The singer declared her love for the woman, who expressed her love for the then Beatle in a news broadcast in the 1960s, via Instagram. He also invited her to a photo exhibition about The Beatles in New York.
“Hey Adrienne, Paul here”
Paul’s video starts with the black and white clip showing the young woman. “Paul McCartney if you’re listening, Adrienne from Brooklyn loves you with all her heart,” she says into a TV reporter’s microphone. Then the image switches to the now 81-year-old Briton. “Hey Adrienne, Paul here,” the ex-Beatle says into the camera. “Listen, I saw your video and I’m in Brooklyn now. I’m in New York, I’m finally here. We have an exhibition, a photo exhibition, come over here and see it!”

In the caption he declares that he loves Adrienne too. “And Adrienne from Brooklyn, if you’re listening, Paul McCartney from Liverpool loves you too,” he writes with a red heart behind it. In the comments below the video, Paul’s followers wonder en masse whether Adrienne from Brooklyn is still alive. There appears to be no clear answer to this yet.
The American entertainment site TMZ reports that Adrienne’s recordings were made when the British rock band arrived in New York in 1963 for their first American trip.
The exhibit that Paul talks about in the video is called Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm. The exhibition shows photos that the ex-Beatle himself took during the heyday of Beatle-mania, the worldwide madness surrounding the then so popular pop group. The collection of around 250 photographs can be seen at the Brooklyn Museum in New York until August 18.
