Joost Klein will be the fifth artist to perform on Saturday during the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Dutchman is allowed on stage just before Israel’s much-discussed act.
This is evident from the running order released last night. Joost takes the stage after Sweden, Ukraine, Germany and Luxembourg.
Joost sang and took the Netherlands to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Thursday evening. In Malmö he was the third to be told that he could continue.
Because he is fifth on Saturday and has his turn relatively early with his number Europapathe Dutchman will have to sit in suspense for a lot longer during the final.
Bookmakers estimate Israel’s chances to be high
Shortly after Joost, Eden Golan takes the stage on behalf of Israel. That entry is controversial; for example, the song had to be adjusted because it would be too political.
Critics also believe that Israel should not participate at all, because of the violence by Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip and the resulting civilian deaths. Booing could be heard several times during Golan’s rehearsals this week.

Despite the protests and noisy preparation, Israel reached the final. After the semi-final performance, Israeli odds even increased according to bookmakers. They now put Israel in second place, behind top favorite Croatia. Europapa van Joost is eighth.
Co-favorites Switzerland and France, like Croatia, only perform at the end of the final. Austria closes the Eurovision Song Contest. The final starts on Saturday at 9 p.m. and lasts until approximately 1 a.m.
