Teun Koopmeiners cannot play for the Dutch national team against Germany on Tuesday evening. The Atalanta Bergamo midfielder has suffered an injury from the friendly match against Scotland.
Koopmeiners came in line for Georginio Wijnaldum in the final phase against Scotland on Friday and did not emerge unscathed. The KNVB reported on Monday morning that the 21-time international will return to his club to work on his recovery.
Due to the departure of Koopmeiners, national coach Ronald Koeman travels to Germany with 22 players. The selection initially consisted of 26 players, but Brian Brobbey (Ajax), Quilindschy Hartman (Feyenoord) and Stefan de Vrij (Inter) were dropped at an earlier stage for this international match.
