Clothes market, flea market or flea market, whatever you call it, King’s Day 2024 is the day for both children and adults to get rid of unnecessary items or score new acquisitions in Vlissingen.

On Saturday, April 27, the day has arrived: King’s Day! In various places in Vlissingen you can sell your things with a rug on the floor or of course scour the rugs looking for something nice. The flea markets in Vlissingen can be found in these streets:

  • Aagje Dekenstraat (on the even side)
  • Arsenal Square
  • Coosje Buskenstraat (on the even side)
  • Small Market
  • Long Zelke
  • Lepelstraat
  • Oude Markt (participants must ensure that the Vrouwenstraat remains accessible)
  • Sint Jacobsstraat
  • Spuistraat on the square (participants must ensure that Marktstraat remains accessible)
  • Walstraat
  • Sailing market

Rules of the free market

The free markets are from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and everyone is allowed to sell things.

  • You can take a spot on the sidewalk on April 27 from 6 a.m.
  • You can reserve a spot with chalk or painter’s tape. There should be no paint or glue residue left afterwards
  • It can still happen that someone sits in your reserved spot. The municipality of Vlissingen gives a tip to be on time and to resolve it together if it happens. Ultimately, King’s Day should be a pleasant day.
  • Emergency exits and entrances to homes and shops must remain clear
  • You can sell items anywhere within the designated areas
  • You can sell everything except items that are not permitted by law. You are also not allowed to sell or give away for free perishable food and drinks with or without alcohol
  • After the market, tidy up your belongings and leave nothing behind
  • Containers for waste are placed in the following locations:
    Schutterijstraat, near Scherminkelstraat
    Schutterijstraat, near Kolvenierstraat
    Torenstraat, corner Lange Zelke
