The seventeenth edition of Construction Day is on Saturday, June 8, 2024. On that day, construction and infrastructure companies open their construction sites to young and old. At the time of writing, there are six construction projects to visit in our province, but that number may increase in the coming weeks.

Construction Day in Utrecht

You can also visit a construction site in Utrecht. During Construction Day you can visit the historic wharf cellars of Magazijn de Zon at Oudegracht 167. The company Gebr. de Leeuw BV will show the developments of the project between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. You get a look behind the scenes with a tour of the history of the Utrecht cellars, the various restoration phases, techniques used and there are (children’s) activities.

Are you more curious about the developments of the new De Nieuwe Defense district? Then you can walk a route through the construction site between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and take a look at a number of new homes. Please note: this activity is only suitable for people over 16 years old and who have good mobility.
