A squatter’s building in Dillenburgstraat Eindhoven was cleared by the police on Friday evening around six o’clock. Squatters pelted construction workers with stones and bottles in the morning. No one was injured, but it did prompt the police to urgently evacuate the building. At least sixteen squatters have been evicted from the building.

The riot police were present as a precaution, but according to the police the eviction went smoothly. There was a lot of sound equipment in the business premises. This has been seized for further investigation. The building is now largely empty. The police believe that this may have prevented an illegal party.

According to the police, about sixteen people were evicted from the building. But according to a 112 correspondent, there were many more people in the building. “There were also a surprising number of dogs, at least ten. They looked well cared for,” the correspondent saw.

After everyone had to leave the building, the squatters were allowed to collect their personal belongings with two people at a time.

Illegal rave party
According to a 112 correspondent, many of the squatters are the same people who were at an illegal rave party in Best a few weeks ago. There the officers encountered a huge amount of resistance. Some officers and a police dog were even attacked with fire extinguishers.
