Haarlem

A fire broke out at the Treffers car and ship scrapyard on the Hendrik Figeeweg in the Haarlem Waarderpolder on Saturday morning. An NL-Alert has been sent due to the smoke development.

The safety region speaks of a ‘very large fire’ and warns people who are bothered by the smoke to close windows and doors and turn off ventilation. A large mountain of materials is on fire. There are flames meters high and clouds of smoke can be seen for miles around.

Nothing is yet known about the cause of the fire and whether there are any victims.
