Peter Boersma has worked as an artist and graphic designer since graduating from Minerva Academy in 2000.

This time Henk Kraayenzank receives Peter Boersma for a new duo exhibition in the ‘Guests’ series.

In his free work, Pter Broersma combines his aptitude for form and composition with his unique technique of ‘tape transfers’. He uses pieces of adhesive tape to remove fibres, chips and fragments of paper from old documents.

That is the material with which he then builds his stories layer by layer. He packages the resulting abstract works in a layer of epoxy.

Digital collages

Peter sometimes makes digital collages on commission, but his preference is unmistakably for physical work. The colors and smells of old documents, the structure of different types of paper and the history of stories and images make creating collages a sensory experience.

In Kraayenzank’s recent collages/assemblages we see that the coherence between visual elements that once formed a colorful, recognizable world has disappeared. That world is increasingly falling apart into separate fragments that are at most connected by a single thin line.

The exhibition can be seen until May 26. Every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM and by appointment 050-3135798.
