Freddy de Grooth robs Peize of undefeated status. 15-year-old Daan Hoogenberg scores twice for Ruinerwold in 20 minutes.

The biggest surprise of the limited program was the 3-0 win of Groningen Boys on champion Peize , which has not yet lost this season. Trainer Freddy de Grooth of Groninger Boys had a simple explanation for his team’s excellent performance: “Just go all out, like we always do. If we were allowed to play everything at home we would become champions. That’s what Peize’s trainer (Elte Hofman-ed.) just said. We are still undefeated here. How is that possible? Artificial grass, the feeling of home, all acquaintances along the line, this young team feels at ease here.” The goals came from Justin Bos, Aaron van den Berg and Dairon Cecilia. Groninger Boys is in the middle of the table, but it is very exciting in 3B. De Grooth: “We are three points ahead of number ten ASVB . That is play-offs against relegation. And we are two points behind number two EHS ’85 , that is a competition for promotion.”

‘Rolder Boys wants to go up and I certainly do!’

Roden had to postpone the championship party for a while and that is probably not a bad time after the death of super fan Jacco. Had Roller Boys Lost points in 2I on Sunday City Canal then the title could no longer escape Paul Raveneau’s men. But Rolder Boys didn’t do that. The team of coach Rick Slor won 3-1 in and against Stadskanaal thanks to goals from Siemen Krikke (2) and Niels Stoffers. Sten Vos’ late goal did not help Stadskanaal. Slor: “It was deserved, we played very well, especially before half time.” Rolder Boys – Roden is scheduled for May 12. Slor is looking forward to it: “Of course there is prestige at stake. And we still need points to reach the play-offs. Yes, Rolder Boys wants to go up and I certainly do! After all, that’s what we play football for.”

The proverbial curtain fell in the same class HOVC . The merged club from Odoorn itself lost to Annen and by Gerwin Schmitz’s late equalizer Mussel Canal (2-2 against Sellingen ) relegation is a fact. Trainer Erik de Jong: “Of course I am disappointed, but not based on today. We played seven ‘fifty-fifty games’ after the winter. They could have gone either way and we only took two points. It was also often disappointing. But all in all, our group is too narrow for this level. We’ll go for it again next season, but in the third division.”

Nine goals

Nowhere were there more goals to admire than at RuinerwoldWacker in 3C. The score was 4-6 and the specter of relegation continues to hang anxiously over coach Johnny Wassenaar’s team: “We came back to 4-5. The equalizer was there. We took a lot of risks and Wacker punished that. For the first time in six weeks we had a hard time against an opponent.” Bert de Boer scored twice from the spot and 15-year-old Daan Hoogenberg was allowed to participate for twenty minutes and scored twice. Wassenaar: “Fantastic goals, a great talent, a son of Peter.” Father Peter Hoogenberg played for Sunday’s amateur champion in 2000 Achilles 1894 in the final for the national title against Katwijk.
