ERMELO DeVeDo won the first Eredivisie final match of the best-of-3 against RBVM from Middelburg on Friday evening, April 26. After a difficult start, DeVeDo came out on top just before the end.

The Ermelo team, which just managed to qualify for the play-offs, managed to win the previous two games of the best-of-3 semi-final against Sunrise Medical Braves. However, DeVeDo got off to a very difficult start on Friday evening.

DISADVANTAGE

At halftime, the Ermelo team was already trailing 8-18. In the second quarter, DeVeDo managed to recover and reduced the difference to 5 points behind. Before halftime, however, it was the team from Middelburg that increased the score to 22-31.

STRONG DEFENSE

After the break it is DeVeDo that takes the lead. The team creates and uses opportunities well and due to a strong defense, RBVM has more difficulty taking advantage of their opportunities. DeVeDo wins the quarter.

EQUAL HEIGHT

With three minutes to play in the fourth quarter, DeVeDo took the lead thanks to two free throws from Xena Wimmenhoeve. After that the score is equal. It is thanks to three accurate shots from Julia van der Sprong that DeVeDo always gives the team the advantage. RBVM leveled once again and ultimately Fabian Jansen’s last shot was accurate. The team from Middelburg has another attack, but DeVeDo manages to intercept it.

DeVeDo thus wins the first Eredivisie final of the best-of-3. On Saturday, May 4, DeVeDo can extend the Eredivisie title in the away match in Middelburg.
