The municipality of Midden-Groningen will receive a rounded 1.5 million euros through the Housing Building Impulse (Wbi) application for the joint Vosholen-Stadshart project in Hoogezand. This is the maximum possible contribution. 5 tranches – good for the construction of more than 184,000 new homes throughout the country – have been delivered via the Wbi. Midden-Groningen was not eligible for this, given the submission requirements.

The Wbi is intended for municipalities to use to accelerate the construction of new homes, increase the number of new homes in a project or increase the affordability of those homes for starters and people with a middle income.

Hit

With the sixth tranche of the Wbi, Central Groningen has now achieved success.

200 homes

The minimum required project size is no longer determined on the basis of the municipality size. A minimum project size of 200 homes now applies to each municipality.

Affordable housing

Half of the homes to be built in the Hoogezandster project must be affordable homes. These are social rental homes, rental homes for middle incomes and affordable owner-occupied homes with a sales price up to the affordable purchase limit of 390,000 euros.

Still starting

One of the other conditions is that construction of the project has not yet started. Construction of the first homes will start within 3 years after allocation. The construction of the last homes within 10 years.
