On Tuesday afternoon, a passenger car suffered significant damage due to a collision with a scheduled bus. The driver was arrested by the police because he was possibly under the influence of drugs.

The accident happened around 2:30 PM on Koudekerkseweg near Vondellaan in Vlissingen. For unknown reasons, a red passenger car collided with the side of Connexxion bus 56 that goes towards Middelburg. An airbag in the passenger car was deployed by the impact. An ambulance team and several police units were called to provide first aid.

The driver of the passenger car was checked by ambulance staff in a bus shelter but did not have to be taken to hospital. Another passenger from the passenger car was taken to hospital for evaluation. There were passengers on bus 56 at the time of the accident, and they also escaped unscathed. The motorist has been arrested by the police. According to a police spokesperson, the man may have been driving under the influence of drugs. This will be further investigated at the office.

The accident caused quite a bit of traffic chaos. Ultimately, the side of the road towards Badhuisstraat was closed. Traffic wanting to head towards the Sloeweg could thus pass via the other half of the road. The damaged passenger car will be towed by a recovery company.

That is why we started the website 112Vlissingen-Souburg.nl shortly afterwards. We have now grown into one of the leading news organizations, specialized in 112 news, in the municipality of Vlissingen.
