Sunday May 5 is the Utrecht Liberation Festival in Park Transwijk. There is also more to do this week. Our live tips can be found below. You can find more performances in our concert agenda.

  • Wednesday May 1: ACU has an EMO takeover with the saddest, baddest and most emotional bands in Utrecht and the surrounding area. You see 32 Elephants, Get Sad and Pocket knife on the stage. (8 p.m./between €8 and €10)
  • Thursday May 2: The partly Amersfoort band Until We Meet Again is influenced by a combination of classic rock, pop, indie, folk and British rock. In FLUOR they present their debut EP tonight. (8 p.m./€6.75)
  • Thursday May 2: The last word makes philosophical/contrarian indie pop. In Hofman Café they will play, among other things, the upcoming single ‘Generation Onpower’, which will be released the next day. (9:30 p.m./free)
  • Friday May 3: The local indie rock band The Crimson Crows plays in Upstairs!. (9:30 p.m./free, but contributions for the band are appreciated)
  • Saturday May 4: Reload is back in The hill with two acts from Bristol (Drone and Boofy) and one from Paris (Beatrice M.). Reload’s own TMSV, Brutuzz and Purefire make the evening complete and Atactic spend the evening talking to each other. (11:30 p.m./€17.20)
  • Saturday May 4: PERRX is a new Latin queer club night in EKKO that brings sensuality and inclusivity to the dance floor. (11:30 p.m./€9)
  • Sunday May 5: At and around The Industry finds it Freeport Festival place, organized by Idle Thumbs, BOOT122, SETUP, het Kleinste Kamertje and many others. The musical line-up includes: Great Joy, Van Tastik, Selma Peelen, Throwing Bricks (photo), Mokerjong and Idle Thumbs. (1:00 PM – 12:00 AM/€14.50)
  • Sunday May 5: In Amersfoort you celebrate Liberation Day intimate and small-scale in the city garden of Amersfoort: the Krankeledenplantsoen! There are live performances of it Big Daddies, The Tommy Rots, Bitterlemon and Tricky Licky, gold records from the vinyl DJs, a nice beer and delicious snacks from the outdoor kitchen. (12:00 – 19:00/free)
  • Sunday May 5: the English indie rock band bar italia mixes grunge, indie and shoegaze with pop. Last year they released two albums and tonight they play at the Pandora van TivoliVredenburg. (7.30 pm/€22.35)
  • Sunday May 5: In the Car Wash Gallery plays (…) Central songs from their debut EP, which will be released on May 10. (11 p.m./free)
