Are your roller skates or skates in a corner somewhere? Time to dust them off and ensure that the wheels turn smoothly again, because the Utrecht Skate Parade is back! The first tour of this year is on Friday, May 3.

Have you ever seen a car blasting out loud hits, followed by a parade of skaters racing past in Utrecht? That is the Utrecht Skate Parade. From May to September, the skaters depart from the Lucasbolwerk every Friday evening for a trip of about 25 kilometers through (the surroundings of) Utrecht.

Utrecht Skate Parade

Are you looking for a sporty start to your weekend and would you like to see some of the surroundings of Utrecht? Then participating in the Skate Parade is highly recommended. You don’t have to be a professional skater to skate, but you do need to be able to brake and a 25 kilometer (that’s over two hours) skating trip is no problem for you.

Practical information

Some practical information:

  • Gather at the Lucasbolwerk at 8 p.m.
  • Participation is free.
  • Only skates or roller skates are allowed, so no bicycles or skateboards.

The route

The Utrecht Skate Parade runs a different route every week. The municipality and the police support the trip. This means you always drive on public roads (and therefore the best asphalt!). Look here for more information.
