Are you coming to pet the lambs? Or perhaps you still have items from the Second World War that you would like to have studied by experts? There is plenty to do in the coming days.

Anticlimax goes back to nature

In the coming years, the Antiklimax theater company will make a triptych about Romanticism. After all, the romantic can still be found everywhere in our culture. This is also the case in their performance As The World Hurts, in which the stuffy, confining theater hall is exchanged for the freedom and openness of the forest. An evening of location theater for which you can leave your rain boots at home. Nature is hot. The wilderness is sexy. We are tired of the city. Get rid of those gray concrete walls; please give us the wide freedom of the forest. We have been so busy with ourselves that we have completely lost sight of Mother Nature.

We are no longer allowed anything as punishment. Less flies, less meat, less, less, less. In the performance, a romantically inclined but desperate boy makes the decision of his life: he sacrifices his cultural life of luxury for a life in the forest. He leaves the civilized world behind and heads into the wilderness. Free from laws, obligations and etiquette, he hopes to get closer to his true nature. But is there still room for humans in nature?

A child can do the laundry

Casier & Dies create poetic performances full of imagination. In the children’s show USED TO BE of this theater duo the beauty of the everyday is examined. For example, the wordless performance looks at the laundry, which we do on average three to six times a week. There was laundry. There is laundry. There will always be laundry, which is of course extremely annoying for moms and dads. But for children it is different; for them, the laundry, the laundry basket and the washing machine are full of life.

After the performance, children can play in the theater playground full of washing machines, laundry baskets, drying racks and of course do the laundry.

Bring all your war objects, documents, letters, identity cards, pins or even bicycle plates to the tour. Everything is welcome. Experts talk about the striking features and the historical context of the items brought in. All stories that arise during the tour are noted down and transcribed later.

This way everything is properly registered. The items you bring can be placed with one of the institutions involved, but that is of course not necessary; the objects can also be taken home again. The life of a widower

Ghislaine Pierie died in January last year. Her husband, theater maker and songwriter Patrick Neumann, was left behind as a widower after an intense period. He made a performance about death, with a raw edge. There are no real manuals for grief or the path to it. So he came up with one for himself. It became a loving journey with deep sadness, new insights and lots of humor. In conversation with Paul Haenen, the idea for a performance about this period arose.

What do you do when Death suddenly appears at your door? In Nothing but good Neumann takes you into his own way of grieving. He sings and talks about his resurrection. Or at least about his attempted resurrection. Because let’s be honest: dying is of course bad, but the widower’s life is not all roses either.
