Zwolle, May 2, 2024 – ENGIE Netherlands has appointed Harry Talen as its new CEO. He takes over from Pierre Devillers, who has been appointed Vice President Hub Europe in addition to his role as Head of Group Transformation Office.

Talen started at ENGIE in 2009. At the time, he started as a trainee and gained broad experience within various business units of ENGIE. In 2014 he started as Plant Manager – the youngest ever – of the then brand new Maxima power plant in Lelystad. Under his leadership, this plant was converted to run 50% on hydrogen. As Director of Flex Gen, Talen is now responsible for all ENGIE power stations in the Netherlands – a role he will continue to fulfill in addition to his work as CEO.

Pierre Devillers: “Over the past three years we have established a solid and successful strategy in the Netherlands. Thanks to a fantastic team, I felt very much at home. In the meantime, I have come to know Harry Talen in my management team as very skilled, strategic and driven. I therefore confidently pass the baton to him and wish him every success. In my new role at European level, I will continue to follow ENGIE in the Netherlands with great interest.”

Harry Talen: “ENGIE is a wonderful organization with great colleagues, where I have enjoyed working on a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy supply in the Netherlands for fourteen years. I am therefore honored with my appointment as CEO of the Netherlands. In recent years, ENGIE has taken major steps towards a climate-neutral energy supply. I look forward to realizing that vision together with my colleagues.”
