Extra buses and trains will run on Sunday, May 5, for the Liberation Festivals in Groningen and Assen, among others.

Arriva trains run as often as on Sundays and, if necessary, additional longer trains run. Two trains per hour run from Delfzijl, Roodeschool, Veendam and Bad Nieuweschans to Groningen and from Leeuwarden there are four. The normal timetable applies in the evening. One additional slow train runs between Groningen and Leeuwarden late at night.

This concerns the following bus lines: Q-link lines 3 (Leek-Lewenborg), 4 (Roden-Beijum), 5 (Annen-Groningen), 6 (Delfzijl-Groningen). Qliners 304 (Drachten-Groningen) and 312 (Stadskanaal-Groningen) also run extra often. In addition, bus lines 39 (Groningen-Surhuisterveen), 50 (Assen-Groningen), 61 (Middelstum-Groningen), 65 (Zoutkamp-Groningen), 83 (Assen-Roden-Leek) and 178 (Siddeburen-Groningen) run more frequently.
