A woman was injured after she fell under a mobile unit (ME) bus around half past ten on Monday evening. The accident happened on the Vestdijk in the center of Eindhoven after the PSV ceremony.
According to the police, it concerns a young woman who is ‘about 25 years old’. She crossed the road on foot.
An eyewitness previously spoke of a young girl. According to bystanders, the woman was rushed to hospital and several ambulances arrived on the scene.
The Vestdijk is closed to all traffic in both directions. A large area is cordoned off with ribbons. Around a quarter past eleven it was still quite busy with PSV fans.
Passing traffic jam
The police say that the riot police bus drove past a traffic jam during the exodus of supporters from the city after the PSV celebration. The riot police bus then collided with the woman, she fell under the bus and was injured.
A team specialized in traffic accidents conducts investigations. It is not about a team from Eindhoven. In the event of accidents involving the police, a different police team always investigates. It was not yet known which team was involved.
It is also not yet clear why the driver did not see the woman. On Tuesday morning it will be determined whether further investigation is necessary and which police team will do that.
