The 22-year-old employee of the Elisabeth residential care center in Breda, who is alleged to have been guilty of sexually inappropriate behavior with the elderly, is now in the Netherlands. He was arrested in Belgium at the end of last month. The man was extradited to the Netherlands by the Belgian authorities and will be arraigned on Wednesday.

The man is suspected of sexually intimidating residents of the care center. This happened in the Corenschup department, where elderly people with a form of dementia live. Several reports of possible sexual misconduct were made within that department.

The umbrella healthcare organization Surplus cannot say exactly what happened. The man was not employed by the care center, but was hired as a self-employed person.

After the sexual misconduct within its walls became known, Surplus filed a report with the police and a report with the Health Care Inspectorate.
