In the third class A, the match between De Meeuwen and Zeelandia Middelburg was scheduled for Tuesday evening. The home team consolidated third place in the rankings with a 4-1 home victory, while the situation for the Middelburgers did not improve.

Due to the defeat, Zeelandia Middelburg must continue to fear participation in the play-off competition for survival. As the winner of the first period, De Meeuwen is assured of a play-off competition for promotion.

The match was canceled on Saturday due to sad family circumstances on De Meeuwen’s side. Both teams tried to persuade the KNVB to play the match next Tuesday, at the same time as the remainder of Patrijzen-VC Vlissingen, but the football association did not agree.

Robin Dek gave De Meeuwen a 1-0 lead with a goal in the cross, but the visitors leveled through Ivan Put. Sven Baas helped De Meeuwen make it 2-1 with a striking header from a corner and a goal by Jordan Francke, after a combination with Delano Langezaal, made the halftime score 3-1. After the break, Dek signed for the 4-1 with his second goal after a repulsed attack. De Meeuwen will be back in action on Thursday, playing at VCK.
