Largest Pasar Malam Asia in the North during Pentecost in Groningen

Last year’s Pasar Malam Asia attracted around 13,500 people. Visitors can enjoy extensive shopping at the 160 stands. There is a wide range of unique items such as wood carvings and batik fabrics from Bali, oil paintings from Thailand and silk clothing from China. You will also find leather goods from Africa, countless scents of incense from India and massage oil from Asia. The list continues with jewelry, home decor and gift items, exotic fruits, sambal, spekkoek and more.

There are also mediums present or as a visitor you can have a real traditional massage – pijit.
Children can have fun on a spectacular bouncy castle.

There are several food stands with culinary Asian delights. Indonesian cuisine is well represented with countless meals, sweet and savory snacks, as well as tropical drinks, ice creams and fruits. The market has several terraces where the delicacies can be enjoyed.

Entertainment

There is also no shortage of entertainment. Enjoy swinging live music every half hour by a variety of artists and be surprised by one of the dance shows from Indonesia, Tahiti and Hawaii, among others. View the entire programme.

The organization believes that Pasar Malam Asia should be accessible to everyone and remain affordable. Despite the rising costs, the entrance fee this year is again 8.50 euros per day or a 4-day ticket for 22.50 euros. This includes free parking and free use of the toilets. According to Pasar Malam Asia, this makes it not only the best decorated Pasar Malam in the Netherlands, but also the cheapest.
