What makes this job so fun? You can make an impact on what the economy of the North looks like! At the same time, you work for an ambitious employer where you are given a lot of space. Are you getting excited yet? Then read on!

Welcome to our team!
You will join us in a driven and friendly team. We work across the board on the (circular) economy in our municipality. We work with passion for all the beautiful things in our municipality. We work closely with entrepreneurs, residents and other parties and always look at what is possible, from the perspective of sustainable development of our society.

This is what you’re going to do
You will receive an interesting work package where you will be on the road a lot and make an impact on our work area. You are the strategic advisor for the council when it comes to matters surrounding major economic issues. All this from the perspective of broad prosperity.

In your role you are involved in developments surrounding the port and fisheries in Lauwersoog and look for cross-connections. Major themes that will play a role in the near future are the joint provincial economic agenda and the Nij Begun economic agenda. This economic agenda includes the topics of energy transition, health, transitions in rural areas, education & labor market, a strong SME and accessibility & mobility.

You are aware of current developments and inform the council thereof. You have many contacts with all kinds of parties such as provinces, ministries, municipalities, residents and entrepreneurs. You take all interests and developments into account in your advice. So you are the link between the field, your colleagues and the college. Further:

  • Build/expand a relevant network in the field of economics at provincial and national level.
  • Draw up your policy, council and council proposals.
  • You have an advisory role in various programs, such as the Wadden Coast and Maritime Ports program.

Your talents
You have a heart for the economy of the north from the perspective of our residents and entrepreneurs. Your attention here is the quality of life in the countryside. You are also committed to the Wadden from an economic perspective. Based on this intrinsic motivation, you know how to give good advice to our college.

You get energy from being on the road a lot and talking to different people. You easily make connections and know what the interests are. At the same time you are aware of your role. You are able to bring parties together and connect them. You have the analytical ability to oversee all developments and make strategic proposals. This is how you built up a network. You naturally work independently and are proactive in this. But you also like to be part of a team and know when to involve colleagues. Further:

  • Do you have a university working and thinking level? You have gained this, for example, by completing a relevant study (rural economics) or through relevant work experience.
  • Are you strong in communication? You are convincing and in your writing you know how to get to the heart of the matter.
  • Do you have a sense of administrative relationships and interests?
  • Do you have a car and a driver’s license?
  • Are you a free thinker, thinks in solutions and has a sense of humor.

What we offer you
A nice job in a beautiful municipality. We will give you a lot of space: room for your own initiative and your own development, but also to organize your work as suits you. We also offer you the following:

  • An employment contract of a maximum of 36 hours per week. Would you rather work less? We look at what suits you best;
  • An employment contract for a period of one year. During this year we will see whether you and us like it with a view to a structural interpretation.
  • A gross full-time salary between €5,008 and €6,777 per month (scale 12), HR21 position Development Employee I.
  • In addition to this salary, you will receive a flexible employment conditions budget of 17.05%;
  • We believe a good work-life balance is important: in addition to statutory leave, you will also receive extra-statutory leave.
  • You can work at one of our locations or from home and will receive the resources you need to do so.
