WOODEN Tomorrow, Ascension Day, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM it is time again for the Heerlijk Houten Festival at the Oude Dorp, organized by Lions Club Houten, business association ‘Het Oude Dorp’, local catering industry and KidsLodge.

Kids Lodge organizes no fewer than 12 different activities for the children, such as making ice cream, coloring, face painting and bamboo crafts. There is a toddler paradise and a block corner. The active ones can do archery, do a treasure hunt or expedition, there is an E-fit zone and there is even an assault course and pillow fight possible. The youth fire brigade is also present again. And there are also new activities. For example, the Army is present with an army vehicle, you can shoot a football into a shopping cart and you can climb.

In addition to being active, you can also eat and drink. There are several stalls selling fries, hamburgers, waffles, pancakes, cotton candy and popcorn. While the children play and enjoy, the parents can watch or relax on the extensive terraces of the Roskam, the Zwijger and Opoe Spronk or enjoy an ice cream at Kwalitaria.

On stage the musical accompaniment is provided by various artists, such as Chris Alain, Ruud Appelhof and Talentcrib by Sharon Doorson. There is also a DJ present.

Entrance is free. Coins are used as payment on the festival grounds. These coins as well as the “8X fun” activity cards can be purchased at the Bandstand during the event on the Square. Payment of the coins via debit card payment as much as possible. Activity tickets cost €12.50 and can be purchased on the day at the Bandstand on the festival grounds.

The proceeds from the Heerlijk Houten Festival go to various Houten charities.
