The Netflix films where watching once is really not enough

--

Sometimes once is just not enough. These films on Netflix certainly prove that. They’re all worth streaming again.

Everyone has a movie that they can watch over and over again without it getting boring. Be it a classic film that never ceases to amaze you or a hilarious comedy that brings you to tears of laughter every time. There is now plenty to choose from. And Netflix has a number of films on offer that are worth rewatching.

You’ll just want to watch these Netflix movies a second time. This could be because you discover something new every time, it is a story that gains more depth every time or a film that is simply great fun. As far as we’re concerned, you’ll definitely want to watch these Netflix films again.

These Netflix movies are definitely worth rewatching

Many of these films managed to positively surprise us the very first time. Fortunately, that magic still hasn’t disappeared, even after a second or even third streaming.

Don’t Look Up

This dark satire made waves among viewers when it was released in 2021. What did the director mean with this film? Was it a metaphor for something? What should we do as viewers? The dark ending didn’t really help the discussion surrounding the film. Almost three years have passed and it is high time to rewatch this film on Netflix.

The story starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence follows two scientists who try to warn the world of an approaching comet. Now that many viewers already know the ending, you would think that the tension in the film is gone. Far from. With a completely different view you see the urgency that the director is trying to convey to the viewer. Terrifying.

The Killer

What is it with director David Fincher and films that you can watch over and over again? Fincher previously brought us top films like Fight Club, Seven, GoneGirl and The Social Network. And yes, all those films are definitely worth watching again.

The Killer is no exception. This film follows a hitman who wants revenge. It is an exciting film with a comedic undertone. Just like Fincher’s other films The Killer also chock full of fun and striking details. Details that you certainly cannot spot with just one look.

Extraction is one of Netflix’s biggest and most successful action films. The story follows Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a mercenary who works in the black market. He is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of a Mumbai criminal.

Rarely are action movies worth rewatching. Once you know where the action is, the tension is a bit off. Extraction takes a different approach with deep characters and overwhelming action scenes. As a result, the gunfights and chases amaze time and time again. Good news: there is a spin-off Extraction in the works by Netflix.

Tick, Tick…Boom!

This is one for people who have a soft spot for musicals. Even if you don’t like musicals, this Netflix film is worth rewatching several times. This is largely thanks to the excellent acting of Andrew Garfield.

Tick, Tick…Boom! is based on theater maker Jonathan Larson. He comes to a turning point in his life and realizes on his 30th birthday that he does not have too long to become successful. He does everything he can to pursue his dream. He does this with incredibly catchy songs, help from friends and a good dose of humor. It’s not without reason that some of the songs from the film were hits on social media a while back.

Guillermo del Toros Pinocchio on Netflix

Pinocchio is a story that has been filmed countless times. From the classic Disney film to the big flop starring Tom Hanks. In any case, director Guillermo del Toro knew what to do with the story. He made an enchanting animated film that won many prizes.

And we understand why. Although the story is already known, the execution is unique and hypnotic. The animations speak volumes, combined with great acting from Ewan McGregor, among others, show us Pinocchio like never before. The film continues to surprise you every time.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Murder mystery films are a craft in itself. It comes down to the smallest details whether the film is worth seeing again or whether once is enough. This spin-off of the extremely popular Knives Out is a textbook example of the first category. The film is still very entertaining even the second or third time.

And that is thanks to the bizarre characters in this Netflix production. Of course with detective Blanc (Daniel Craig) in the leading role. But the group of weirdos with Blanc on an island also make the film so fantastic. And then we come back to small details. The film is full of them. Even when you already know the perpetrator’s motives, you continue to discover new things. Be it objects in the background or subtle hints in the acting. There is always something new to see.
