Marvel Studios, which falls under Disney, is opting for a new strategy. Disney top boss Bob Iger announced during the presentation of the quarterly figures that Marvel is scaling back production to two series and a maximum of three films per year.

“We will slowly reduce the volume and probably go to two TV series per year, instead of four. And we will reduce our film production from four to two, or a maximum of three films,” says Iger. “We are working hard on that strategy.”

Iger previously admitted in an interview that the production of “too many” superhero films and series has led to “a dilution of quality.”

In 2025, audiences can expect “some good Marvel movies.” “More to follow after that Avengers-movies. We are extremely excited about that,” says Iger.

Recent Marvel films are not doing well at the box office. Among other The Marvels and Madame Web have flopped. Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and TheAvengers (2012) are actually three of the most successful films ever. In doing so, Iger seems to be returning to the formula that has previously brought the production company the most success.
