Joost previously gave an interview with The Telegraph that many people think his entry is a joke, to which Joost clearly indicated that it must be a “very bad joke”. Since then, he has posted several photos of an A4 sheet of paper on social media, with so-called “Breaking News”.
Below this exciting title is the text: “Bookmakers don’t want you to vote for him, this is not a joke entry.” With this, Joost gives a clear nod to everyone who doubted his integrity; he takes the Eurovision Song Contest very seriously.
Diss track
Since yesterday, Joost shared a small snippet of some work in the studio in his Instagram story. Shortly afterwards an MP3 file of the track ‘malmö freestyle!!!!!!!!’ could be heard.
In the track Joost says that he is not in Sweden for money and that his song is really not a joke, but that he is here for the art he can make with his friends. He also says that he does this for his friend Käärijä, the previous entry from Finland, by whom Joost was inspired. Listen to the fragment below.
