Large parts of The Hague can listen in on Wednesday evening with a concert by the British band Muse on the Malieveld in the center of the city. On social media, residents from almost all neighborhoods complain about the thumps of the concert, which are said to be remarkably audible.

The music reaches as far as Scheveningen and in the Madestein district, many kilometers away, can be read on Twitter.

Some residents of The Hague are happy that they can enjoy it, but others speak of “extreme noise”. Someone even writes that “it’s like they’re standing in the hallway”. A spokesperson for the The Hague unit could not say whether many complaints had been received about the noise nuisance.

Concert organizer Mojo states that “good agreements have been made about how loud the music can be”. The concert will end at 11 p.m. at the latest, a spokesman said.

The noise nuisance line of the municipality was not answered on Wednesday evening. The municipality of The Hague could not yet be reached for comment.

Muse’s concert is part of the world tour Will Of The People.
