A motorist crashed into a group of revelers on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam at the end of King’s Day on Saturday, the police confirmed on Monday after reports from AT5. Several people were hit by the car. The driver continued driving.

Images from the city channel show a car driving into a partying group of people on the canal around 10 p.m. One woman is dragged by the car and ends up next to it. She then remains lying on the ground. The driver then drives away quickly.

Police say at least one person has been injured and that person will report the incident. The police are still looking for witnesses, images and other victims.

A spokesperson for the Amsterdam police said on Saturday evening that it was King’s Day “without any significant incidents”. But the police reported this before this collision took place.

“We had almost a million revelers in the city that day, several demonstrations and blockades. Then something always happens,” a police spokesperson told AT5. “The fact that we did not proactively report it does not alter the fact that we are making efforts to identify this driver.”
