In August last year, Marian Flooren announced that she was temporarily living in Den Bosch again, because she no longer felt safe in her home in Portugal. Marian was scammed there by Mariana, her former right hand at her real estate agency. The woman is said to have stolen around 90,000 euros and also ordered her boyfriend Fabio to kill Marian.
Because the Portuguese police do not seem to be tackling the case, Marian decides to seek help from Kees van der Spek from the TV program. Scammers tackled to enable. When Kees asks Marian what she still hoped to achieve, she indicates that she has let go of the money. “I won’t get that money back. But I would like it if she were confronted with the situation and explained why she did this.”
The two decide to visit Mariana at home, but are unsuccessful the first time. The next day they proceed a little more carefully. Wearing a black wig and sunglasses, Marian waits with Kees on a terrace at the woman’s house, only to rush over shortly afterwards and confront Mariana. “I know her, why is she wearing a wig?” the woman responds after seeing Marian. When Kees then tells her that Marian still receives money from Mariana, she seems to deny it. ,,What are you talking about? I’m not going to talk to you about this.”
No conversation
Mariana appears to have a protective friend with her, who forbids Kees and Marian to talk to Mariana. He indicates that they should contact her lawyer. Kees does not intend to do that and he asks Mariana if it is true that she wanted Marian killed. “Are you listening?” her boyfriend asks irritably, after which he threatens to call the police. Kees makes a brave attempt to get Mariana to talk, but he gets no answer.
Although no proper conversation took place, Marian is happy that she confronted the woman. “Great, I need to completely unload,” she says in the car with Kees. “I may not achieve anything financially with it, because I don’t think I will ever get it back, but I do think she will now have the same sleepless nights that I had,” she continues. “He really doesn’t sleep well anymore and that’s nice.”
