and are back on the training field at Ajax. The Englishman could possibly return to action on Wednesday when the Amsterdam team takes on Excelsior at home. In any case, that match comes too early for Berghuis.

On Tuesday evening, Ajax shared photos on X showing that Henderson is training with the selection again. The Englishman was injured at the end of March while away with the national team, after which he has been forced to watch for almost a month. “This morning, Henderson was at training again,” says trainer John van ‘t Schip Ajax TV on ESPN. “He participated in the entire training. “Berghuis participated for a small part this morning, so that is also positive,” the coach continues. “He won’t be there on Wednesday, but it is certainly a good step in the right direction.” The winger injured his knee in mid-February and also suffered an injury to his back three weeks later.

Van ‘t Schip does not only provide positive updates. “Kris (Kristian Hlynsson, ed.) has disappeared, of course,” he says. The attacking midfielder was injured during the warm-up for the match against FC Twente. “That will keep him busy for a few more weeks. But for the rest, everyone is there again,” he concludes.
