Ajax wants and would like to keep it. Head scout and temporary technical manager Kelvin de Lang talks to The Telegraph know that a departure of the trio is in principle non-negotiable.

“Kelvin and I sometimes look at each other in the stands and agree that the current game does not suit Ajax; there is no comfort in it,” says football director Marijn Beuker in conversation with the newspaper. Despite Ajax’s mediocre season, Beuker and De Lang have identified four players who should become the skeleton of the future Ajax.

“With Ramaj, Hato, Taylor and Brobbey you really have a nice block,” continues the football director of the Amsterdam team. “We have sat with them and want them to stay. There must be stability in the group and then you will not get twelve players again.” De Lang agrees with those names. “Hato, Taylor and Brobbey are also boys from our own training,” adds the technical manager. “As far as we are concerned, departure is in principle non-negotiable.”

Despite all the criticism, De Lang still sees a future at Ajax for a number of Sven Mislintat’s purchases. “It is not the case that all twelve Mislintat purchases are leaving. That transfer summer was also an unfortunate turn of events, with many players signed very late in the transfer window. Then things didn’t work out between Mislintat and trainer Maurice Steijn, which led to them both leaving. Not exactly an ideal situation for a player to find himself in. Then everyone looks as if they are twenty percent less healthy,” he concludes.
