Robin Frijns is not satisfied with the current state of affairs after the chaotic Monaco E-Prix. The Dutchman is not happy with the chaotic way the races are currently going and calls for change.

The race weekend in Monaco did not go as Frijns would have hoped. The Dutchman qualified in P9 on Saturday afternoon and seemed to be well on his way to converting this starting position into a points finish. However, the E-Prix was incredibly chaotic from the first minute. One driver after another was involved in an incident, some of them even had to leave the battlefield early. Frijns, in turn, was also involved in incidents a number of times, including with reigning world champion Jake Dennis. Ultimately, the Envision driver had to settle for seventeenth place and was left scoreless.

Frijns’ reaction after E-Prix Monaco

“I’ve had better times,” Frijns responded to GPFans after the E-Prix. “Mess, just a big mess. Yeah, I don’t know what to say. It’s just not fun to drive this anymore. When asked how difficult it is to stay out of trouble on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, the Limburger is short-tempered. “Impossible, as you can see.” According to him, the problems are not caused by the GEN 3 cars. “The next generation is just pure – if you are good you are ahead, if you are bad you are behind.”

Chaos has nothing to do with Monaco

Although the problems in Monaco may have seemed worse than in previous races, Frijns does not believe that the race in the Principality should disappear from the calendar. “It has nothing to do with Monaco, it’s the same everywhere we go.” The Dutchman emphasizes that Formula E must take measures, but does not know what would solve the problems. “I have no idea, the racing, more penalties, I don’t know what. It is not normal, we just have to change something,” says Frijns.
