Feyenoord coach Arne Slot still does not want to confirm his possible transfer to Liverpool. At the press conference in the run-up to the match against PEC Zwolle, Slot kept a low profile.

“Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. I am sitting here with a Feyenoord emblem on my shirt, so in principle it is intended to be about Feyenoord,” Slot opens at the press conference.

Nevertheless, the Feyenoord coach thinks that his transition to Liverpool will take place soon. “I am confident that it will be completed, but I cannot say exactly when that will be at the moment.”

Slot has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool for weeks, but according to the coach, his work at Feyenoord will not suffer from this. “It’s not difficult at all to keep my focus. The fun and eagerness radiate from the group of players, so it is a pleasure to work here. I still come here every day with a lot of energy.”

European Championship possible on the way for Wieffer

While Feyenoord can ‘normally’ have Gernot Trauner at their disposal against PEC Zwolle, this does not apply to the injured Mats Wieffer. He will no longer play this Eredivisie season. Does Slot fear that Wieffer will not reach the European Championship with the Dutch team? “I wouldn’t use the word ‘fear’, but it is not a positive signal that he will not play again this season. It is certainly not an ideal run-up to the European Championship.”
